The Management Team

David Brocas

Managing Director

David Brocas spent nearly a decade (2013-2022) working as a trader and marketer at Glencore where he gained exposure to molybdenum, copper and cobalt. He was until recently the Head Cobalt Trader at Glencore managing the largest cobalt portfolio worldwide and one of the largest battery metals portfolio in the industry.

He led the structuring of some of the first long term cobalt purchase agreements with downstream players such as Umicore, BMW, Tesla, Samsung SDI, SK Innovation or GEM Co.

​

While at Glencore, David also chaired the Executive Committee of the Cobalt Institute from 2020 to 2022 and acted as Glencore’s representative on the LME Cobalt Committee.

​

He was deeply involved in discussions in relation with Sustainability, Responsible Sourcing and Traceability and actively participated at the creation of the Fair Cobalt Alliance, a multi-stakeholder organization that is striving to improve the lives of the artisanal miners in the DRC. 

​

Prior to Glencore, from 2008 to 2013, David held various analytical and operations positions on the trading floor of BP in London.

 

He was involved in the structuring of deals on various commodities: gas, LNG, crude oil, refined products and biofuels.

 

David Brocas received a Master of Science Degree in Geology, Mining and Drilling from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy in 2005 and a Master of Arts Degree in Economics and Corporate Finance from Ecole du Pétrole et des Moteurs in 2007.

Abdessadek Ait Si Brahim

Director

Abdessadek Ait Si Brahim spent nearly a decade (2014-2023) in risk management and nickel trading at Glencore. 

​

He was instrumental in upscaling analytical research for metals in the battery supply chain, with a strong emphasis on R&D and next generation decarbonization strategies. He led numerous projects in metal refining and battery recycling while engaging with leading OEMs.

​

Prior to joining Glencore, he spent more than 10 years in energy trading and risk management focusing on gas & electricity markets and utilities. 

​

He holds a Masters degree in computer science and industrial engineering from French school “Ecole Centrale de Lille”.
